Questions to Ask Any Wedding DJ Before You Book

(The questions we wish every couple asked us first.)

  1. Will I work directly with the DJ who's playing my wedding, or with a rotating roster?
With us, you're always in direct contact with the actual DJ who will be there on your day—not a booking agent, not a stand-in. We will build a playlist and timeline together, so nothing gets lost in translation. We are here at any moment you need us.

  2. How do you handle music we didn't think to ask for?
We let the music speak for itself. That means genre-spanning knowledge deep enough to read the room and blend your must-plays with perfect pics that keep the floor moving – never filler, never gimmicks, no cheese.

  3. What happens if we want last-minute changes?
That can happen fast and unexpectedly. If you need an edit to your first dance or a late addition to the list, you're emailing or texting your DJ directly – not routing to a request through a call center. Our DJs keep their cell phones with them at all times. I also can be easily reached.

  4. Do you only do DJ sets, or can you blend in live musicians? The Hybrid.
Absolutely — it's called the Hybrid. Many of our couples love combining a DJ with live musicians for a sound that feels layered, not just loud. A saxophonist over the main reception is a favorite, and a percussionist is always a great addition — from there you can build out with a horn section or electric violinist. For your ceremony and cocktail hour, we work with top string ensembles or solo guitar. Whatever you're imagining, we can bring it to life.

  5. What's your philosophy on keeping the dance floor full?
It's not about tricks or what's another way of saying? routines. It's about crafting a musical tapestry that reflects who you are as a couple – a night that feels entirely, unmistakably yours. From our first conversation, I already know where you're coming from and your musical taste.

  6. Are you insured?

Yes ~ We are always insured and present a certificate of insurance, a.k.a. COI, to the venues.

  7. Are there extra fees on top of the price I am quoted?
One fee covers it all — parking, travel, insurance, and taxes are included. No hidden extras, no surprise line items on your invoice.

  8. Will you actually play from our song list?
Absolutely. Couples put real time, thought, and soul into their song list — we honor that. We build your reception around it, and we also ask what you don't want played, so there are no unwelcome surprises on the dance floor or at any time.

  9. How is the MCing style?
We follow your lead. We only say on the microphone what you want us to say — nothing more, nothing scripted, no forced bits. Friendly, happy, and warm — with just the right touch of announcer polish. Think of a voice that feels like a welcome guest at your wedding, not a stranger on a loudspeaker.
