"Hi, I’m Carol, the creator of A Starry Night Music. I am the first female DJ, and I was the first to open a majority-female DJ company. We are all inclusive, multicultural, and cosmopolitan.

My musical journey began in Miami Beach and Palm Beach. Trained at The University of Miami, I was a busy performing musician, singer, recording artist, and band leader. I was always searching to make our music fresh, original, and unique. I toured to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro and ultimately lived in Argentina for two years. I toured internationally and recorded avant-garde Brasilian jazz alongside progressive rock, American/British pop, and standards.

When I arrived in New York, I immediately felt I had landed in a place where my artistic ideals could truly come to life. I opened A Starry Night Music in 1990. I wanted our private events to be fun, sophisticated, and cliché-free. Performing around the world, I met and began to work with the amazing artists who now share their talents with us. Many are Grammy-winning musicians, including Lifetime Grammy winners and Emmy winners.

I have played for Presidents, the iconic artist Prince, the Crown Prince of Iran, Monty Python’s post-Broadway one-night performance after-party, Ian Schrager, the founder of Studio 54, multiple times at Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, and beyond.

The richness of culture and rhythm—from living in Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil and traveling through Ireland, England, France, Italy, the Caribbean, and South Africa, Asia, and beyond—revealed to me that classic rock, pop, and dance music resonate across borders. Music unites the world through rhythm and meaningful lyrics.
