Our Story

Hi, I'm Carol — founder of A Starry Night Music. I’m the first female DJ to open a majority–female DJ company, and we're proud to be all–inclusive, multicultural, and cosmopolitan to this day.

Where it Started

My musical journey began in Miami Beach and Palm Beach. Trained in music and theatre at the University of Miami, I spent years as a performing musician, singer, recording artist, and band leader – always chasing music that felt fresh, original, and unique.

That search took me on the road: touring Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro, then living in Argentina for two years. I toured internationally and recorded avant-garde Brazilian jazz alongside progressive rock, American/British pop, and timeless standards.

Finding New York

When I arrived in New York, I immediately felt I had landed in a place where I was home. I opened A Starry Night Music in 1990 with one goal: make private events, fun, sophisticated, and cliché free.

Over the years I've had the honor of performing for Presidents, the iconic artist, Prince, the Crown Prince of Iran, Monty Python's post-Broadway after-party, and Ian Schrager cofounder of Studio 54 — plus multiple appearances at Amanyara in Turks and Caicos.

A World of Rhythm

Living in Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil – and traveling through Ireland, England, France, Italy, the Caribbean, South Africa, and Asia – taught me something simple: classic rock, pop, and dance music resonate across every border. Music unites the world through rhythm and meaningful lyrics.
